Construction of a quay wall with a length of 835 m and a retaining height of 23.6 m. The quay wall is built up as a combi wall with MV-pile anchors (Müller Verpress anchoring system). This project is the first project where the MV-pile system was used in the Middle East. The quay wall is used for loading and unloading of oil tankers up to VLCC class. Gulf Foundation was subcontracted to perform the following activities:

  • Installation of a combi wall comprising of tubular piles Ø 1420mm and triple infill sheet piles
  • Fabrication, handling, installation, grouting, and testing of MV pile anchors (50m long H-beams with grout hoses and grout container at the tip)
  • Connections of MV piles to the tubular piles
  • RCC pile plugs for Ø 1420mm tubular piles
  • Supply and install clutch detectors and inclinometers for tubular piles
  • Supply and install strain gauges for MV pile anchors
  • Installation of gravel columns for soil improvement
  • Installation of cast in-situ vibro piles for marine loading arm platform foundations
