Port of Fujairah Northern Breakwater

Construction of a 2.9 km long, deep water breakwater for the Port of Fujairah Oil Terminal 2. The purpose of the breakwater is twofold: 1) to protect the Oil Terminal berths from waves and currents, and 2) to provide access for oil pipelines and personnel to the VLCC berth and other future berths along the breakwater. The breakwater is built as rubble mound structure with a rock core, filter layers and heavy rock armour. On the crest of the breakwater a cast in-situ mass concrete crown wall is realized. Gulf Foundation was subcontracted to perform the following activities:

  • Construction of the breakwater
  • Installation of foundation piles for future jetties
